The deranged madman who took the lives of four more people and wounded eight others at a Michigan Latter-day Saints Chuch was recently identified as a 40-year-old Iraq War veteran.
According to reports from local media outlets, he was believed to have served in the US Marines, as confirmed by The Post.
Thomas Jacob Sanford rammed his Chevy Silverado truck into a giant building before opening fire on worshippers at the Sunday service of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan.
The vehicle had two giant American flags behind the cab and a set of deer antlers attached to the bumper. He also set the church ablaze, causing the whole structure to come crashing down.
Authorities fear there might be more victims in that fire. A post on Facebook by Sanford’s mother mentioned how the gunman had passed away at the scene in a shootout with cops. He was found to have served in Iraq between 2004 and 2008.
He was killed minutes after the first 911 call came in. As per the Department of National Resources officer and a local township, cops responded to the scene in nearly 30 seconds, as per authorities.
