Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a 27-year-old circus acrobat who plunged to her death on Saturday evening after falling a whopping 16 feet from a trapeze swing.
Spanish star Marina Barcelona was said to be performing a solo trapeze act with the Paul Busch Circus in Bautzen in Germany when she fell out of nowhere.
Nearly 100 people of all ages were in attendance at this show, and received an overwhelming amount of support when emergency services found that Barcelona had passed away from her injuries on impact.
Local police described that the professional was not wearing any safety rope at that moment in time. ‘She does not have to. She decides for herself whether or not to use that rope’- the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the head of Germany’s circus association theorized how Barcelona may have encountered a health issue. ‘It’s just so unusual for a well-trained artist like her not to survive a major fall from just five meters. Perhaps she got dizzy on the routine’- another source shared.
Barcelona had been in circus arts of nearly a decade and joined Paul Busch for the upcoming season but the troupe shared that in its next slate of shows, there would be delays and cancellations as this event gets investigated.
