It might not be the news that many fans were hoping for, but the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Performer for this year has been revealed.
And it’s none other than Latin superstar Bad Bunny. Yes, he’s been confirmed as the halftime entertainment for February’s Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California. This news was shared during Sunday night’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
The announcement comes as the Puerto Rican rapper admitted that he avoided touring the US after ongoing ICE raids. In an interview that was shared with i-D magazine earlier this month, the rapper admitted that this move was due to his concerns related to audience members.
‘Like f****ng ICE could be outside my concert!’- the rapper added. And then he said that it’s something that everyone is talking about and concerned about, him included.
He further shared that there were many reasons why he did not show up in the US and none of them were out of hate. ‘I have performed there so many times’- he shared.
This year, his music video for NUEVAYOLD featured a Trump soundalike mentioning, ‘I want to apologize to the immigrants of the USA! I want to say that this nation is nothing without immigrants’- he continued. The Grammy winner who endorsed Kamala Harris last year explained to Rolling Stone in January that he was planning to use this platform as one of the most famous musicians around the globe to discuss politics.
