The Sinclair Broadcast Group confirmed that it would be resuming airing Jimmy Kimmel Live on its ABC affiliate stations beginning Friday. This decision follows a suspension of the show due to comments made by the host about the killing of MAGA activist Charlie Kirk. Sinclair had previously opted to remove the show, citing that the remarks were inappropriate and very insensitive.

The controversy started when Kimmel made a monologue that some viewed as offensive, leading to Sinclair and Nexstar, which together own a major chunk of ABC affiliates, to preempt the show. Nexstar has yet to decide to lift this ban, affecting viewers in major markets such as Washington DC and Seattle.
