A man has passed away after riding a roller coaster at the Universal Epic Universe in Florida.
According to a spokesperson, the incident took place on Wednesday on the famous Stardust Racers Roller Coaster at the Universal Epic Universe. The man was said to be unresponsive after the ride and was then rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in a statement shared with PEOPLE as a male in his 30s.
‘It’s very early in the investigation and we have no further data for release at this moment in time’- they continued. They also mentioned how they are saddened for the victim and went as far as to extend their sincerest sympathies to him and his loved ones. At the moment, Universal says the matter is under investigation to figure out what went wrong and why.
‘We are fully cooperating with Orange County and the ongoing investigation. Right now, the attraction remains closed as the investigation continues!’- they revealed.
It’s not clear at this moment in time when this rise will reopen. Epic Universe opened up in May of 2025 and is Universal’s latest theme park.
