Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Pratt has been blasted for his tribute to Charlie Kirk.
Publishing shortly after the shooting was done, the actor who is known for playing Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies mentioned: ‘Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife, and for the young kids that he’s left behind. We need to pray for the USA and we need God’s grace so He can help us!’- the post read.
Prat was in the past called out for his strong ties to the far-right church, as well as being notably absent from one 2020 fundraiser that was held in October for Joe Biden.
This was attended by MCU mainstays, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo.
This timing is just being called out as so unfortunate, with Kirk’s assassination mostly dominating the news and overshadowing a shooting at a school in Colorado.
A student opened fire at Evergreen High School, with the shooter dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while two others were rushed to a hospital in serious condition. Replying to Pratt, one very upset individual mentioned, ‘Praying for you to get fired from Marvel as soon as possible!’ and that’s what started a long chain of similar replies from others.
