Republicans have moved to honor President Trump with a series of bills, including one to carve his face next to the others on Mount Rushmore.
The South Dakota national memorial shows the faces of George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. Now, MAGA wants Trump’s face added too, claiming he needs to be immortalized for all the great achievements he’s offered to the country.
The bill shared in January to add Trump’s face to the historic monument did not elaborate on how he would fit, nor has that made its way to Congress for further advancement.
But the original sculptor once shared how he does not feel anyone else could fit into the monument, as reported by NBC News. So now the question arises, how well will Trump be memorialized if not for Mount Rushmore? Well, the idea has been stalled so far, despite gaining momentum in the past. This is what we know so far.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna shared the bill in January proposing to carve Trump into Mount Rushmore, but her announcement did not feature any kind of timeline or funding for this project.
It just included a rendering of Trump’s figure in stone, next to Abraham Lincoln.
