Speculations about President Trump’s alleged death were seen spreading online after a series of viral claims drove social media into a moment of overdrive.
Hashtags like Donald Trump is Dead and It Happened started to trend online on platforms like X. However, the reality behind the half-mast flags at the White House is believed to be so different.
On August 30, eagle-eyed users noticed the US flag flying at half mast at the White House. This was combined with Trump’s absence from a scheduled cabinet meeting and claims that he had not been seen in public for a few days, as speculations exploded online.
Screenshots went viral around the White House website and it showed how it would LIVE shortly, fueling more fire to the frenzy. But those flags had nothing to do with a presidential tragedy, as shared by insiders.
These were lowered upon the orders of Donald Trump himself, who wished to have them flown at half-staff across federal buildings and installations in honor of victims of the Minneapolis mass shooting.
