Tragic reports are speaking about a golfer from New Jersey who passed away after getting struck by lightning.
These are amid claims that players were not properly warned about the dangerous weather.
Simon John Mariani passed away after getting hit at the 15th hole of the Ballyowen Golf Course in Hardyston on July 8 when a storm rolled in.
After rushing to the hospital, his injuries saw him pass away on Monday, as per the obituary released.
As per News 12 New Jersey, a fellow golfer shared that day how the alarm that was sounded by the organizers of the course was not good enough.
There should have been a serious alert related to the weather, and therefore, all players shouldn’t have been playing or risking their lives at that moment in time.
When rain and thunder struck, many bolted off the course and ran inside the clubhouse. This is when they witnessed the cops coming inside.
‘Nobody did say anything to us, we did not hear any kind of siren or horns to get away from the course’- the furious player shared. An investigation into the incident is taking place as loved ones mourn the loss of a young talent in golf.
