The wife of Lufthansa airline’s billionaire CEO has reportedly run down the family’s babysitter while on vacation.
According to reports from local media outlets, the incident took place in Sardinia, and sources shared how the suspect flew back home to Germany while under investigation for the vehicular homicide.
Vivian Alexandra Spohr, who is the wife of the CEO Carsten Spohr, was said to be behind the wheel of the BMW X5 on Tuesday afternoon when she struck Gaia Costa on the pedestrian crosswalk in the upscale Italian resort town of Porto Cervo, as per Corriere News.
Spohr allegedly continued to drive until onlookers waved her down, leaving her shocked that she fainted.
Paramedics spent nearly 20 minutes trying to revive Costa, but the babysitter passed away from serious head injuries, as mentioned in the report.
Spohr was identified as being under investigation for involuntary manslaughter, but this mom of two had already flown home to Berlin by that time.
Now, after the story has been circulating in the press for so long, sources have confirmed that she feels a lot of deep remorse and regret over what happened and wants everyone to know that the babysitter was like family for them.
The victim’s family is demanding a full and transparent investigation as they seek justice.
