A Texas father of two, who lost his daughters in the tragic flooding, is now breaking his silence on the heartbreaking incident.
This includes how his daughters sent in one final text before they passed away and were found with their hands locked together.
R.J. and Annie were spending the Fourth of July at their one-bedroom cabin inside Casa Bonita near Hunt, Texas, which was a place that they had owned since the year 2020.
The daughters were opting to stay nearby with their grandparents when the tragedy took place. It was a cabin close to the lake.
At about 3:30 am on the holiday, RJ woke up due to the sounds of thunder, rain, and lightning. They began to grow fearful as their daughters were not home with them, and soon, he realized that water was rushing into the cabin that was closer to the lake.
They soon fled to the higher ground and alerted nearby loved ones to evacuate as well. But the current was just too strong, and he was thrown into a post.
He knew that if he tried again, it might be a death sentence, and that’s when he realized he should check his phone. His daughters had shared a touching message, ‘I love you!’- and also a family picture of all of them.
Everything flashed before his eyes, and that’s when the dreadful news soon came in. The girls were no longer alive.
