Several international flights between Bali and Australia were seen getting cancelled after the giant Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano in Indonesia erupted.
The shocking incident arose today, which resulted in ash and other kinds of volcanic material as high as 18km being sent into the sky.
As a result, flights were forced to undergo cancellations and delays, including three Virgin Australia-operated flights and two Jetstar flights that were cancelled.
Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki erupted for a second time in as many months, and that caused several delays to international flights.
Two of those flights were bound for Bali and were scheduled for take-off on Monday, but remain uncertain about whether or not they will be operational anytime soon.
The website of Perth airport says JQ106 was due to take off at 4:20 pm and JQ116 was said to depart at 4:40 pm, but they are currently not operational.
Some of the services of Virgin Australia Bali were cancelled right after the news of the eruptions took center stage, the airline spokesperson shared, adding that ash cloud activity was the main reason for the sudden news.
They regretted the impact that this would have on its travellers and encouraged guests travelling to or from Bali to monitor the situation closely, including flight status through the Virgin Australia website or application.
