9-Year-Old Has Become A Successful Entrepreneur Who Employs People With Special Needs


A 9-year-old entrepreneur has a successful coffee business that employs people with special needs.

Camden Myers suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was born and also suffered from several speech problems that made his life difficult.

Camden suffers from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) that causes both cognitive and physical delays.

Simple daily tasks like tying shoes or holding a pencil are extremely difficult for him.

However, after his parents installed a coffee bar in their home, they noticed a positive change in Camden’s sociability.

A little over a year ago, Camden set up Cam’s Coffee Co. with the help of his mother, Latasha Barr-Myers in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The company employs people with special needs and currently has five employees working at the shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The shop menu includes brewed coffees from all over the world.

Camden also plans to provide job training to disabled students of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at the shop.

Camden said: “I like helping people. I like working. I like making money and I like donating money. I like donating money to people who don’t have houses or food.”

At the grand opening ceremony of the shop, Camden’s mother, Latasha Barr-Myers said:

“With the right support, kids and teens and individuals with special needs really can accomplish anything, and so today is basically our mission, our vision in action.”

The main goal of Cam’s Coffee Company is to bring awareness to the employment needs of this community as individuals like Cam deserve a safe and supportive environment that includes gainful employment and life skills training, according to its website.
