Douglas Smith, a British gardener, has grown 839 tomatoes on a single stem and surprised the world by breaking the previous world record of 488 tomatoes on a single stem.
43-year-old has been working on this project for a long time and finally made a new world record because of his hard work and passion for gardening.
In an interview, he revealed that it took him almost an hour to harvest all the tomatoes.
He used to spend 4 hours a week in the greenhouse. His consistent efforts bore fruit one day and he made a world record.The size of each tomato is not more than a tennis ball.
The overall weight of these tomatoes is around 9lb.
He planted the seeds in March 2021, and after a few months, he got his required result. Douglas recorded the counting scene of the tomatoes and asked a policeman and a priest to witness the event.It helped him to verify for the Guinness World Record.
Later the samples from the soil were sent to a lab nearby for analysis.
