Touched by this little girl’s commitment towards education, as well as her ill-fated situation, Marlene Garcia, a university student from Tennessee, USA has set up a GoFundMe page for Elaine and her family.
The footage was taken in Manila, the Philippines by Rolando Villanueva. Despite being the capital city, most of the people there are living under below poverty line. They are forced to live on the streets while they struggle to send their kids to schools.
However, education is not even a guaranteed ticket to a better life, but it didn’t bother Elaine from getting her schoolwork finished.
It was found out that Elaine’s family was made recently homeless after her father was taken ill and could not go to work.
In spite of tough weather condition with the strong winds blowing the pages from her book, Elaine still had the resolve to finish her homework. That’s true dedication.
