According to the police, the man in the freezer, identified as Balasubramaniya Kumar, had been a resident of Old Housing Board located in Salem City. Due to his age and restrictions as a 74-year-old, Balasubramaniya Kumar was bedridden for two months. His younger brother and sister’s daughter had been taking care of him in the mean time. In recent news, Geetha had fallen ill and was previously admitted to a hospital located in Coimbatore.

Saravanan had reached out to a company renting out freezer boxes that he would need one because his brother had died. The staff had delivered the freezer box to his house on Monday evening, saying they would collect his older brother’s body the following day.

Soon after, he was placed in the box and had remained in it overnight. His younger brother had told his relatives of his brother’s “death,” but when they reached the house on Tuesday afternoon, they noticed sudden movement from inside of the box.

Saravanan had told the freezer box company that his brother’s soul was trying to leave the body. Of course, people were alarmed and called the police, where they had rescued the man and labeled his condition as a critical one.

Police are now investigating his younger brother and think that Saravanan has a mental health condition. After seeing his older brother’s decline, police think that his brother assumed that he was about to die and rented the freezer box out of shock.
