The 42-year-old investigator actor revealed the reason for purchasing the item to PEOPLE.

He said: “I’m a DIE-HARD Ghostbusters fan and being able to actually own the screen-used Hero Ghost Trap prop, used for all the close-up and special effects scenes in both Ghostbusters films, is like a dream come true,”

“I grew up watching Ghostbusters and wanted to be one… look at what I’m doing now!”

“Except instead of Slimer I’m hunting real ghosts and demons,” he jokingly said.

“I was sad when he passed away, but I think he would think it’s very cool to have his whole costume on display at my Haunted Museum next to the Ghost Trap for paranormal fans to appreciate,” Bagans said. “This is where all of this stuff belongs.”

He also got a bunch of props and costumes Harold Ramis used in 1984 classic such as Dr. Egon Spengler’s jumpsuit, utility belt and boots and proton pack shell.

Zak said the items will soon be on display in a new “Ghostbusters” exhibit at his Haunted Museum in Vegas. He is a huge fan of Ramis and says that he will showcase Ramis’ costume in a part of the museum.

He said, “Maybe his spirit will show up. I’m sure he’d be down with that.”

Some paranormal enthusiasts criticized Zak for the aggressive and confrontational methods he uses during investigations. In a June 2009 interview with Paranormal Underground magazine, he responded, “I don’t want the public perceiving us as the taunting, provocative ghost hunters. We do that only to the bad spirits who we know are attacking the living.”
