A young British teen has gone viral on the social media after a video of him downing 30 shots of Sambuca in one minute surfaced online.

And while a majority of drinkers can only handle one or two shots on a night, you might be thinking what made him drink an unbelievable 30 shots in just 60 seconds.

It was for a competition held by Players Sports Bar And Grill in Zante, Greece.

The 20-year-old holiday-maker, Chris McAdam, opted to take part in the contest when he was told by the bar staff that he and his friends wouldn’t have to pay their bill if he could complete the challenge.

Unlike many other people, the young shot-master agreed without giving his decision a second thought.

And despite the possibility of throwing up and burning his throat, McAdam started downing the shots, at an incredible rate of 2 seconds per drink.

After the man was halfway through the challenge, it seemed as if he was regretting his decision and might throw up any second. But, contrary to everyone’s expectations, he managed to complete the challenge in time.

“I was sick a couple of times after, but I drink Sambuca on my nights out back home in Swansea, so it’s a drink I can handle,” he told The Sun.

“The barmaid said, ‘If you can do 30 Sambucas in 90 seconds you won’t have to pay the bill,’ which was 25 euros. I felt fine afterwards – I’ve felt worse at home on nights out.”

The video was shared on the Facebook page of the bar and was captioned: “Chris the Legend! 30 shots of Sambuca in 60 seconds!”

The manager of the bar added that McAdam was the first person to complete their challenge. “No one has done our challenge with Sambuca before. I kept him for three hours in the bar to make sure he was OK,” she said.

“He’s an adult and can ask for what he wants. We can’t force him to do it.”

The video went viral on the Facebook and received around 900,000 views from people across the globe. However, many of the viewers, instead of praising him, called the act insanely stupid.

One user commented: “Disgusting that people encourage other people to do this….that amount of alcohol in that short time could actually kill someone….”

Another wrote: “I love a drink and few sambucas but this is idiotic let them kick in he won’t be able to walk and people cheering him on silly bugger’s.”

One person said: “Too bad the video doesn’t go through until half an hour later so we can see he’s completely in a coma. That is a good example for young people. Right?”
