Donald Trump made a huge statement at the start of his State of the Union address by completely ignoring Nancy Pelosi’s handshake offer.
He simply turned away from her as soon as the Speaker received a copy of his speech.
This act may not be much, but it clearly symbolizes his utmost condemnation of his political enemies and his presidential predecessors.
The Republicans started shouting “four more years” as soon as the President in front of the chamber, while the Democrats sat expressionless as they wait for the beginning of the speech.
Trump started making his case for re-election as he proudly boasts that he created a “Great American Comeback” while ignoring the Democrat’s agenda to have him booted out of the White House.
He then continued to scorn the Democrat’s policies, which he promptly called as an act of socialism.
In his speech, he said that he had successfully shattered the mentality of American decline and denied the downsizing of America’s destiny.
He then shared his vision on how he plans to create the world’s most prosperous and inclusive society.
The Republicans repeatedly stood and cheered on as the President repeatedly attacked his predecessors.
However, Trump received mixed reactions on economic results, as he never reached the 3% growth he targeted, and manufacturing jobs continued to decline.
He then went on and focused on healthcare, as he said he shall not let socialism destroy American healthcare.
He also boasted on the centerpieces of his policies such as replacing NAFTA with USMCA, as well as spending big on military.
He praised the creation of Space Force, a military branch that prepares for space warfare.
Also in attendance in the State of the Union are the First Lady, Melania Trump, and other family members, which include daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
