Trashtag Challenge Is Going Viral As People Cleaning Beaches and Parks

Social media is a crazy place and crazy trends and challenges keep coming and playing with the minds of people.

We have seen the Kiki challenge, Ice bucket challenge, Birdbox challenge, and recently the Vans challenge is ongoing. All these trends were stupid but the one we are going to talk about today is not.

Twitter

This challenge was not one like all these others but for a change, this challenge actually made some sense, some very good and positive sense.

The Trash Challange or the #trashtag is making people clear parks, streets and beaches all around the world before they call others to clean their own communities. No, the trend did not start in a flash, it had been there for years but over the weekend it got the fire again. People started posting before and after pictures of the same on social media.

The challenge that was filled with drama and colors was a cleanup operation where people would go to a place covered in plastic trash. They would click a picture before cleaning up. They would then collect the trash in bin bags and click an after picture.

The craze was invited on board teens. Soon the word spread and so did the #trashtag.

Many people on social media also joined in hands by talking about how it was extremely vital to take care of the cleanliness of the natural landscapes and how it has been negatively affecting our lives.

Instagram user Cody Hanson said in a post, “We all have our private indoors but the outdoors, these are the only outdoors we have and we are the ones ruining it. We have to understand that this is the only outdoors we have and we use it for many different things.”

“Let’s pick up our own trash first and then let’s help others pick their trash. We are the only hope for our outdoors. It will only take a few minutes and it is the least we can do to save our lives and these beautiful landscapes.”
