According to the US.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), approximately 565,000 people were homeless on a single night in January, 2022, and the number is still growing.
And although the issue of homelessness is a serious concern, not many people know what to do in order to help out the homeless when they actually see them on the street.
In this short film produced by Purple Feather Online Content Specialists, we are shown a special interaction between a blind homeless man and a stranger.
And this film will definitely show you a creative, yet heartwarming way to aid the homeless.
This homeless man is sitting by himself in a public square. In front of his feet, there is a cardboard sign that says, “I’m blind, please help.”
Sadly, though, no one seems to pay attention to him – until this woman shows up.
She sees him, and instantly realizes that he’s blind. Then, she surprisingly picks up his sign and writes something on it.
But the miracle happens right after she puts down the sign back and walks away.
Strangely, people seem to take more notice of the homeless man than before, and even gives him money to help him out.
When he senses that the same woman who wrote on his sign came back, he asks her the question that we all want to ask:
“What did you do to my sign?”
And she simply answered, “I wrote the same, with different words!”
