The young woman who believed she was Madeleine McCann was not happy with the results of her DNA test.
Julia Wendell became a social media sensation after she created an Instagram account and claimed that she could be the missing British girl.
With the help of private investigator Dr. Fia Johansson, she traveled to the US for ‘safety’ and even made her first TV appearance with Dr. Phil.
During the interview, she was asked by Dr. Phil about her parents: “Your mother – the people that raised you – maintains that she is your biological mother, that she gave birth to you, right?”
Julia then replied: “She said, yes. My mother, when I asked her for DNA (test) – before this whole situation – when I asked her for some pictures from her pregnancy, some childhood pictures, like me at three or four, she refused and didn’t want to.”
But DNA test results showed that Julia is not the missing daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann.
Speaking with The Sun, Dr. Johansson has revealed Julia’s reaction to the results and said that the Polish girl was not convinced that it was real.
“At first she didn’t want to believe the DNA results, she was saying ‘What if someone changed the results?’ but I told her, ‘Stop this now,'” Dr. Johansson said.
“I can understand as a psychologist why she didn’t want to believe her mother is her real mother.
“But I told her – she must stop this fixation now that she is Madeleine McCann and accept the result of the DNA test and start to move on with her life. She accepts this now but she has been struggling to come to terms with it.”
Dr. Johansson concluded: “I made sure that it was safe for her to return to Poland and I’ve spoken to her father who has said he will make sure she is supported and looked after and receives the health treatment she needs.”
