28-year-old Bekah Martinez is a mother-of-two and a social media influencer from the US who revealed she was bullied and embarrassed as a child after her legs started sprouting hair.

While for many years she prayed that her arms and legs would be free of hair, the young woman finally embraced her natural looks when she fell pregnant with her first daughter four years ago.

As Bekah explained, she wanted to teach her children that hair and all-natural looks are nothing to be ashamed of.

Despite Bekah’s best intentions, however, the mother soon became a target of critics and trolls who started telling her that she “wasn’t attractive” anymore and that her body hair was “repulsive.”

“I first stopped shaving when I was pregnant with my daughter four years ago because I wanted her to see an example of someone living in their natural body without any shame,” the 28-year-old explained as she hit back at her haters.

Recalling her past, she added: “I would pray every night that God would just remove all the hair from my arms and legs.

“Looking back on that just makes me so sad because I was just a little kid just existing in her body.”

Bekah also revealed that ditching the razor and accepting her body hair helped her “heal” her relationship with herself and overcome the feeling of shame.

Though the young lady still receives some criticism and nasty looks, she has helped inspired many women to embrace their body hair and feel good in their natural form.

“I was bullied for my body hair as well. I have a huge scar on my leg because I tried to shave my legs when I was six. I always talk about how body hair is normal and beautiful with my daughters,” one supporter wrote after Bekah’s clip went viral.

“I too am a fellow hairy arm girl, and I WISH I had more examples to make me feel more comfortable in my body. You go mama,” another said.

A third agreed: “Body hair is nothing to be ashamed of, I think what you’re doing is awesome.”
