A woman has left people divided after she decided to let a baby fall to the floor to save her glass of champagne.
In the viral video, the woman can be seen holding the baby who is trying to reach for the glass on a table.
Instead of moving the champagne flute away, she let the baby grab it and it toppled over.
The woman then let go of her hand that was supporting the baby’s back and grabbed the drink, letting the baby getting showered with champagne bubbles and falling to the floor.
A video of the incident was shared on Twitter where it has received more than 105k likes. It also sparked a lengthy debate, with many slamming the woman for letting the infant fall while others defended her and said that she did the right thing.
One Twitter user commented: “She probably did the right thing here tho. If the baby took the glass down with them, it would’ve shattered in their face. I’d rather have my baby recover from a slight fall rather than cuts caused by glass.”
Another wrote: “If that glass had broken then there was a chance of proper injuries. Kid will be fine because they fall all the time. I get it.”
A third said: “Never would’ve happened if the glass hadn’t of been in reach of the child.”
Someone else wrote: “She shouldn’t have grandkids at all if alcohol is within reach to a barely walking baby.”
