Homeowner Branded As ‘Petty’ After Using A ‘Cheap Trick’ To Stop People From Walking On His Lawn

A homeowner has sparked a furious debate after revealing how he managed to stop people from walking all over his lawn.

Thomas Lyons’ security camera footage went viral after the man posted a video showing people getting squirted by the water sprinkler he installed with the intention of keeping unwanted guests off his property.

Since his land is not fenced off, many people take Thomas’ well-trimmed lawn for granted and go on to trespass on his property rather than walk on the road next to it.

To combat this issue, the disgruntled homeowner installed a motion sensor-operated water sprinkler that showers anyone who dares to approach the man’s lawn.

The video showing people getting doused in water has since racked up nearly 4 million views on TikTok where some viewers branded the solution as genius while others called it mean.

“People saying put a fence… why would someone spend money on something that is not a need, people have to respect other’s people properties,” someone wrote.

“Not everyone can afford a fence and why should they? People need to learn some respect,” another said.

A third defended the homeowner saying: “I think this is absolutely genius!! why on earth should ANYBODY think it appropriate to trespass on your land?!?”

Some people, however, were less than pleased with the “mean” solution and went on to brand the homeowner as a “bully.”

“Wow! People really are petty,” someone said.

“If you care that much about your property line then put up a fence,” another advised.

A third argued: “So what if they pass by it’s not like they’re having a picnic on your lawn.”
