Woody Harrelson has shared what he believes to be proof of his biological connection to his best friend Matthew McConaughey.

Harrelson and McConaughey have been close friends for decades – but that’s not all there is to their relationship according to the two friends and their most loyal fans.

Though similarities between the two Hollywood stars have long been out there for us to see, McConaughey recently sparked a debate after revealing that his mother might have been in a physical relationship with Woody’s father around the time he was conceived.

Now, Harrelson shared what he believes to be further evidence supporting the idea in a joint interview for Esquire with White House Plumbers co-star Justin Theroux.

“Well, I don’t know because we haven’t done the testing, but I can say that there’s a lot of almost insane coincidences,” The Hunger Games star said.

He continued: “[McConaughey’s] mom had a relationship with my dad right around the time he was conceived. That seems like a big coincidence.

“And his dad did say, you know she was going to the hospital to give birth and he goes, ‘That ain’t my son.’ And he didn’t go to the hospital.”

While Woody allegedly already asked his best friend to take a DNA test to either confirm or dismiss their suspicions, McConaughey has yet to agree to the testing.

“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ I got a little more skin in the game,” the actor previously said.

Despite fearing what effect the results might have on him, McConaughey, too, revealed that there is a big possibility he is actually Woody’s biological brother.

“In Greece a few years ago, we’re sitting around talking about how close we are and our families. And my mom is there, and she says, ‘Woody, I knew your dad.’ Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after ‘knew.’ It was a loaded K-N-E-W,” he said last month.

“We went on to unpack what this ‘knew’ meant, and did some math and found out that [Woody’s] dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were in their second divorce.

“Then there’s possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a ‘knew’ moment.”
