JUST IN: UFC Star RETIRES After His Defeat In The Octagon


MMA star Jorge Masvidal has officially announced his retirement from UFC and the octagon following his latest defeat.

The 38-year-old fighter surprised his fans with the news of retirement after his defeat against Gilbert Burns in Miami on Saturday.

Speaking to Joe Rogan from the octagon, the self-made millionaire, who earned over $5 million in his fighting career, said:

“I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more. I love all of you. Thank you everybody for watching. This is where I started my career.

“Sometimes your favorite basketball player ain’t got that three-pointer no more, your favorite quarterback loses that rifle. It’s been 20-something years. I’m a multi-millionaire. I had nothing when I started. I’m out.”

After his announcement, which came moments after Burns’ unanimous victory, Masvidal also paid a tribute to former US president Donald Trump who was in attendance watching the entire bout.

“I also just want to say the greatest president in the history of the world is sitting right there. I love that guy,” the MMA star added, prompting the 45th US president to respond with a thumbs up.

Addressing the crowd was also Burns who continued his winning streak with his win against Masvidal.

Voicing his respect for the UFC champ and prompting the ‘Let’s go Jorge’ chants from the audience, Burns said: “We’re here because of this guy, 52 pro fights. Give it up for your guy.”

Masvidal’s retirement comes after a three-fight losing streak and after the MMA fighter’s defeat against Kamaru Usman and longtime rival Colby Covington.
