Serena Williams is pregnant with her second child, the tennis legend confirmed.
On Monday, the 41-year-old tennis superstar proudly showed off her growing baby bump as she attended the 2023 Met Gala with her husband Alexis Ohanian.
Taking to the red carpet at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the athlete sported a black Gucci dress with angular rhinestone trim around the sleeves and on the hem. Williams completed the look by donning a jeweled headband and a series of thick pearl strands around her neck.
Joining his wife was Alexis who opted for a simple look by wearing a classic black tuxedo with a black bow tie over a white shirt.
Posing for pictures, Serena put on a warm smile and placed her hands on her hips to complement her curvy figure.
The tennis star confirmed her pregnancy not only with her appearance at the Met Gala but also with words she shared in her viral Instagram post.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she wrote.
While her due date remains a mystery, Serena will become a mother for a second time after welcoming baby daughter Alexis Olympia back in 2017 when she married Ohanian.
The good news comes shortly after the sportswoman surprised her fans with a hilarious clip showing her getting ready for the Met Gala.
In the video, she is seen applying a face mask before eating French fries and a burger while her crew worked on her hair and her makeup. “Met diet,” Serena joked as she took a huge bite of her cheeseburger.
At one point, a woman is also heard laughing as she wipes Williams’ greasy lips to avoid ruining the makeup.
