Actress Jessica Chastain is shedding light on the real reason why she is still wearing a mask at some of the leading high-profile award shows.
The leading celeb is one of the very few from the Hollywood fraternity to still be donning one while out and about in public. But considering the fact that the pandemic is well over and no other celeb is seen doing the same, she has been the center of great controversy and backlash regarding the matter.
The star agreed that the pandemic may be done and dusted with but that does not mean she has no right to wear a mask. The star expressed her massive shock when it was mentioned that she was afraid to showcase her face and perhaps may be hiding something.
Critics claim that celebrities were eager to shun the mask but this one celeb was happy to be called out and known for her masked appearance. Hence, she continues to keep the mask on at all times.
Some even claim wearing the mask was some form of a political statement and that’s something she wished to keep undercover. But for the first time, the star is opening up on the matter.
She says the reality is far from what people are thinking and she wants them to know that.
The star agrees that the threat of the pandemic is becoming less and less and infections are no longer seen as a major issue in today’s day and age. However, she is baffled to learn that people still don’t have their facts correct.
You can still get infected when you’re in a populated area. And with major events lined up in her schedule, that’s the last thing she needs.
The star adds that she was meeting people from all over the globe. Some were flying in from China and others from elsewhere. Whatever the case may be, she just couldn’t handle the thought of getting infected and being a celeb, she felt the need to act responsibly.
