Jamie Foxx was rushed to the hospital and hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency.
The 55-year-old actor, comedian, and singer, who is currently staying in Atlanta to film his upcoming movie with Cameron Diaz, was hospitalized on Wednesday over an undisclosed medical condition.
While the nature of his medical issue remains unclear, it is feared that it could be something more than a minor complication due to the actor’s ongoing hospitalization.
The shocking news was announced by Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, whereas the actor’s family has since issued a statement claiming that the Django Unchained star is “on his way to recovery.”
Confirming the fears of a major health scare was also a source who told TMZ that Foxx was “communicating again” after a “medical emergency,” suggesting that the actor was previously in a condition so bad he was unable to speak.
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday],” the actor’s family shared in a statement.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
While the Hollywood star’s family revealed that the actor is on the mend, it remains unclear when he will be released from the hospital and when he will return to filming.
The news comes shortly after Foxx increased his presence in Atlanta for the sake of filming his upcoming action-packed movie Back in Action.
