Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being dubbed ‘out of touch’ for assuming wrongly that Frogmore Cottage would always be there for them.
This is even though they chose to give up their royal titles in the year 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen gifted a new residence by the late Queen Elizabeth II who mentioned that this was their wedding gift in 2018. But when Charles heard about his son and daughter-in-law giving up their royal titles, he did not waste a second or think twice about taking it back from them.
Stepping down from their positions as senior working royals, Harry and Meghan thought this keepsake present would be a symbolic reminder of the late queen’s kind and loving gesture toward them. But that was not the case and was said to be the last straw in the relationship of Harry with his father.
Now, the Duke of Sussex has opted to renounce his residency and make the US his final home. He confirmed how the UK has his heart but it can never be home to him again because his family is not safe there and for him, the security and wellbeing of his loved ones mean the most.
