The controversy surrounding trans activist Dylan Mulvaney continues as a new shocking allegation was put forward by Bud Light’s Vice President today.
The firm’s VP mentioned how a lot of plans were already made to alter the famous brew-making company’s branding, way before the controversy regarding Dylan Mulvaney struck.
Despite it being the country’s leading beer maker and holding the majority of the shares in the market, the firm was just not able to capture the target audiences that included females and younger-aged drinkers. Therefore, they had a lot of plans in store.
But the news has still not sat down well as leading celebs were seen boycotting the brand from promoting the products and even went as far as stripping them from marketing their tours and concerts after it chose to sign a leading contract with the controversial trans activist.
The VP mentioned this during a recent episode of a business podcast, adding how the beer was in decline for a long time and changes had to be made to get the right kind of attention that was not coming forward.
“We are looking at things from a long-term perspective. We want the brand to survive later on in life and we did what we needed to do and what we felt right”- she added.
But netizens are not convinced and with the growing skepticism surrounding their latest partnership with the activist, people just might be giving the brand an even harder time.
An entire backlash spiraled on social media when the campaign was announced through the brand’s Instagram account and also through Dylan’s Instagram account.
Now, the firm is trying to reel back from its very controversial decisions and it hopes that its latest marketing strategy doesn’t backfire.
What are your thoughts on the brand’s campaign involving the activist? Do you approve or not?
