There is no doubt that every baby born is precious, lovable and adorable.
And some babies are simply more striking than others due to their rare features.
That’s what Jorge Gomez and his wife discovered when their two beautiful daughters, Virginia and Catalina, were born.
The twins were extra special in many ways. First, of course, they are twins, a special blessing. Second, they were born prematurely.
Catalina came out weighing 5.95 lbs while her sister emerged two minutes after weighing 5.5 lbs! The two adorable little things also had something even more special that their doctors and parents were stunned by.
Both of them have completely white hair! They surprised the people around them as they made their grand entrance.
The doctor said that the babies were albinos.
Albinism is a congenital disorder in which a person doesn’t have melanin pigment in the body, resulting in a lack of coloration. It is associated with numerous vision problems as well, such as amblyopia, nystagmus and photophobia. Lack of skin pigmentation makes the skin more susceptible to sunburn and skin cancer.
Parents, doctors and the babies’ relatives couldn’t believe it. They were beautiful and special in their own way. Catalina and Virginia are also blessed with a 9-year-old brother, who was very delighted to have them in his life.
In an interview with LV12, Jorge said: “When they gave us the news that we would have two babies, it gave us a lot of happiness and when they were born and we saw that they were albinos, that happiness did not change at all. For us it is a blessing.”
The two babies are definitely unique as this doesn’t happen often, and especially not in twins.
