A mother was shot in front of her five children after a heated argument with another parent.
29-year-old Eloise Chairs from Illinois tragically died after she got into an argument with another friend over her child’s card game.
Speaking to WQAD, her sister Christena Chairs said: “Eloise always put her children first. Eloise was shot in front of her children, blood covering them all.”
Chairs reportedly argued with another parent after her son’s card game was taken while they were in Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.
24-year-old Treshonda Pollion, a friend of the other parent, pulled out her gun and shot Chairs then fled the scene.
The bullet struck the mother-of-five in the shoulder and hit a main artery.
Chairs was rushed to Genesis Medical Center East where she passed away.
Police arrested Pollion the next day in Rock Island County in Illinois, the Times reported. She was charged with first-degree murder with a bond set at $1 million.
A first-degree murder conviction in Iowa carries a mandatory life sentence in jail without the possibility of parole.
Only a month before the tragic incident, Chairs gave birth to her first daughter.
“She always wanted to help, even when she needed help of her own,” her sister Joy said. “She loved children.”
A friend also said to the Quad-City Times: “She was a strong black, powerful woman who took care of her kids and anyone who needed her helping hand.”
One person commented: “Chuck e Cheese is a safe zone. How was the shooter allowed to enter this establishment with a gun? They have metal detectors.”
Another wrote: “Who in the hell brings a gun into a Chuck E. Cheese, or for that matter any restaurant?? WTF?”
A third added: “Shot dead at a childrens party? Words fail me.”
