Let’s accept it, there is nothing fun about marathons.
If you agree with me then this marathon is definitely for you.
You must be thinking that I am contradicting my own statement here but hey, this is no ordinary marathon I am talking about. This is probably the best marathon to happen in the world.
Well, this marathon is not just about running, it is about wine and cheese as well. Du Medoc Marathon in France is no ordinary one. The route of the marathon goes through some exotic estates and vineyards.
Just like you see pit spots in the marathons where runners are provided with water to keep themselves hydrated throughout the run. Well in this marathon, along with water, runners are also provided with wine.
There are wine tasting and cheese sample pit spots where runners can take a stop and have a glass or two of wine while they run through the marathon. The time limit for the marathon has been set for 6.5 hours which is a fair time for anyone to be able to get done with the run.
Yes, you have access to booze but if you have any intentions to cross the finish line then beware and drink only a limited amount of it. The marathon has been taking place for several years and this year it is going to happen in September.
Apart from wine and cheese, you can also have the pleasure of having some local ice creams, oysters and grapes as well. Yes, this is not how the traditional marathons take place but this one is unique because it is different.
One more fancy thing the marathon has to its name is the costume. The runner or the viewers with the best costumes are also awarded. The top runners of both men and women category are awarded with the best quality of wine and a few other goodies.
