Picture Of Fashion Model With Visible Stretch Marks Takes Over The Internet, Shoppers Salute The Fashion Site

There is no such thing as perfection, as everybody has imperfections that make them unique and beautiful in their own way.

To prove that point, Boohoo, a giant fashion retailer, decided to share a picture of a model in yellow body suit without editing the stretch marks which can be easily seen with the naked eye.

Cheryl Adele, who spotted the photo that went viral soon after, shared her findings on Facebook and received over 100,000 likes and 69,000 shares.

“I find this so amazing! That even on a massive clothing brand like Boohoo they haven’t photoshopped away the model’s stretch marks! This is what girl power is all about! And every woman has imperfections. It shouldn’t be photoshopped away to give unrealistic expectations! It’s what makes us who we are!” Cheryl captioned the photo she shared.

Soon enough, thousands of people praised the retailer for not removing the stretch marks out of their marketing material.

Other women also began sharing pictures of themselves with visible stretch marks. Some even said that Boohoo earned a “standing ovation” for trying to show women that it’s okay to accept who they are.

“Girl power. A standing ovation towards boohoo keeping it real will bring them loyal customers and I’m sure a big following,” one user commented.

“Perfect body doesn’t exist, and sometimes imperfections are perfect,” another one said.

“Omg.. I have this too. I’m not body conscious about these things at all but it’s so refreshing to know that other women have this too,” the third one posted.

“I think it’s a fantastic idea to stop Photoshopping these images. Imperfections make us normal more beautiful,” a new Boohoo fan wrote.

Boohoo, however, is not the first fashion retailer to do something like this. Just last year, Missguided also received a lot of renown after sharing photos of models with visible stretch marks.

Hopefully, companies will continue to pursue natural looks when it comes to photographing their models until it becomes something normal rather than special. One step at a time and we’ll get there.
