The glass tumbler was lying intact on the floor. While one end of the straw was inside the tumbler, the other was sticking to Elena’s eye.

The metal straw stuck so deep inside Elena’s left eye that it pierced her brain passing through her eye socket. As a result, she suffered a traumatic brain injury.
