While most of us do stupid things when drunk, one man from China won the contest of drunk fails after he climbed on a power pole and casually walked on live electrical cables for several hours before the rescue crew managed to get a hold of him.

Allegedly, the man scaled the 32-feet pole from where he made it onto the cables while he was in a drunken state.

The rescuers only managed to rescue the man after a member of the crew climbed up on a nearby tree. The incident, which took three hours to get successfully resolved, took place in Quanzhou, China.

According to the reports, the man began walking on the cables as soon as the firefighters arrived at the scene. While they instructed the electricity company to turn the power off, the man could fall to his death at any time.

While the firefighters were looking for the best solution to deal with the unusual situation, passersby formed a large group of spectators.

After failing to lure the man down using a megaphone, the rescue crew placed inflatable mattresses underneath in case he fell. Unfortunately, however, the man kept on walking around, making the firefighters’ work that much harder.

After a while, hopeless firefighters called in a cherry picker for reinforcement. The man and several other firefighters climbed on the surrounding trees and waited to ‘ambush’ the drunken man.

After a while, one of the firefighters managed to grab the man and pull him onto the tree. From there, the rescuer pushed him down onto the inflatable mattress that the firefighters moved in place.

Miraculously, everyone survived the incident unhurt. As for the guy who had a bit too much to drink, he had a long talk with the police after his adventure.
