Brave Alabama Grandma Helps Taking Down Suspect By Holding Him At Gunpoint


Guns are probably one of the most debated and yet the most hated invention ever made by mankind.

When we hear the word ‘guns’ the first thing that comes to our minds is the ‘bloodshed’ and ‘killing’. But to be honest, it’s stupid to reprimand a tool for its abuse, as even the most brutal weapons can be utilized for good ends.

We know it’s difficult to believe but this grandma from Athens, Alabama is the proof that guns aren’t always the used for killing, they can be used to teach culprits some life lessons.

On June 17, a man named Cameron Blake Powers stole a vehicle, as indicated by The News Courier. The 24-year-old culprit additionally had somebody in the traveller seat, when he stripped out in the vehicle. Luckily police were informed and they started chasing the car.

The police chase ended after some time when Powers, in the end, slammed the stolen vehicle. He ran away from the crash site leaving behind his companion, who was not so lucky.

The person on the passenger seat was injured and was sent to the hospital. In the interim, Limestone County’s District 3 Commissioner Jason Black understood that the accident had happened directly alongside his mom’s home. So, he reached his mom, 75-year-old Marcia Black, and told her about the situation and asked her to keep watching the culprit.  “Well, guess who showed up?” he said. None other than a shirtless, shoeless Powers.

The old granny went out with her riffle telling Powers to stand still otherwise she would shoot him. At first, Powers didn’t take her seriously considering her age but when the granny shot fire in the air, Powers realized the situation and didn’t move an inch after that.

It was that time when police arrived. “He feared the deputy more than he feared my rifle,” Black said. “He jumped up and ran zig-zag right across the field.” Police rapidly got him. Black’s 15-year-old, granddaughter saw the entire thing, and she is so proud that her grandmother was able to help the police.

Black said that it’s just simply one more day if something bad happens you got to deal with the situation.
