Astounding video footage captured shows a brave man stroking and patting a fully grown male Lion’s mane as it cuddles up to him.
The video footage shows the king of the jungle cuddling up to his human friend before letting out few mighty roars of happiness and satisfaction.
The whole incident was filmed at South Africa’s Glen Garriff Conservation, Harrismith. The video features, Smokey, the adult lion interacting with Mike Thulani, the lion manager at the sanctuary.

Director of GG Lions LPC, Suzanne Scott said that Mike is an extraordinary Zulu man who possesses an exceptional gift with all of their lions at the sanctuary.
She said that his gift is something that is difficult to explain, but he somehow can connect with the wildcat on a deeper level. Smokey is a 10-year-old male lion who has known Mike all his life.
Mike is his caretaker since he was a cub and they share a great animal-human bond. Smokey is often seen looking for Mike for the regular stroking and scratches.

The sanctuary is strictly against petting and interacting with wild animals, and they say that Mike and the animals share a special bond and they don’t encourage people to come and pet lion cubs as it will be very harmful to their future as the purpose of their program is to raise lions and other wild cats in the wilderness away from human interaction.
This way they can remain true to their nature and on the top of the food chain.
