Abandoned Dog Who Was Shot 17 Times Found A New Home And Works As A Therapy Dog


Maggie who is five-year-old pooch was abandoned on streets after being shot 17 times.

She was found in Lebanon with her eyes shot out and her ear cut off and also with a broken jaw. 

The dog was pregnant when she was found, an animal charity called Wild At Heart Foundation rescued her. Maggie’s story went viral and Kasey who is an animal lover took the pooch with her to give her shelter into her home in Brighton.

Now, Maggie works as a therapy dog and has her own verified Instagram account with a huge fan following.

Speaking with The Argus, Kasey explained: “This person in Lebanon posted asking for help and a woman in London saw the post and got help.”

“Wild At Heart said they would take her in, even though it’s quite hard to get pets out of Lebanon.”

“My mom saw Maggie’s post and said we had to foster her.”

“I got home and saw the picture and agreed.”

But to get Maggie out of Lebanon was not easy and Kasey took a six-month online campaign and at last, she succeeded and brought Maggie into her new home in Sussex.

Now Maggie has a career visiting hospitals, care homes and spread a positive message by visiting universities.

She took exams to qualify as a therapy dog and passed it successfully.

Kasey took Instagram to share the good news and wrote:  “Yesterday me and Maggie went to meet with her assessor, @maherandhounddogtraining she flaunted her stuff and gave it her best go and she PASSED.”

“Maggie is now a registered therapy dog with @underdog_international.”

She and I will speak to schools and work hands-on with youngsters.”
